not my words but those of Stefania Consoli...
To respect the structure of the magazine, which necessarily must be a clear reflection of Our Lady’s call at Medjugorje, as is desired by members of the Association responsible for publishing it, I feel I must move on to a different media where I can more fully express my experiences. I am convinced that the Medjugorje experience can open up new horizons that are worth developing in a different context.
Not my words but those of the Board of Directors of the newsletter.
You would have read in Echo no. 217 that the collaboration between Echo and Stefania Consoli and all those belonging to her community has been terminated. You will notice that the name of our paper has returned to its original name as an indication of a new start; and the new editorial line intends to offer a service that is transparently faithful to the grace of Medjugorje which is historically expressed through the “Parish of the world” that Mary chose. This is important, especially now when so many ideas and interpretations of Medjugorje abound, and which often dissociate from the reality of this place “where one finds the fount of grace” (Message 08/05/86). Millions of people come here to personally encounter Mary and Jesus the sole fount of life, of peace and of fullfilment for the soul.
The great mystery of Incarnation – a stumbling block for some since the Church's earliest times, though it is the fulcrum of the Christian faith – is written in the “DNA” of the grace of Medjugorje, and confirms the centrality of the Catholic Church in the economy of salvation. Thus we see the need for a full and loyal communion with the institutional Church, and with the Magisterium and the dispositions of those “whom my Son has chosen” (message, 02/01/2012). And this was definitely the original intention for Echo by its founder, the late Fr. Angelo Mutti.
Our intention, therefore, is to offer a humble contribution to the Queen of Peace’s “plan of salvation” (message 25/05/93) by transmitting the grace and the messages faithfully, with due respect to the historical truth and the objective modality with which they are expressed. In short, we would ideally like to bring into every home not only the events, but also the grace of Our Lady’s presence at Medjugorje as faithfully and as authentically as possible.
If we look at the early messages (e.g. 01/03/84: “... I have chosen this Parish in a special way and it is my desire to guide it. With love I protect it and desire that all be mine...”) we can see that since the very beginning the messages are addressed not to chosen individuals (as in other cases), but instead to an entire ecclesial Community, by means of the visionaries. According to us, this proves that the grace of Medjugorje is destined above all for the Church, and that its spiritual potential can be fully released only within a concrete communion with the institutional Church. We are convinced that only thus can the awaited fruits of the Immaculate Heart of Mary come to be (cfr. ... a seed that will develop into a robust tree and will extend its branches out into the entire world ... message 02/12/2011).
