“Dear children! Pray in this time of grace and seek the intercession of all the saints who are already in the light. From day to day may they be an example and encouragement to you on the way of your conversion. Little children, be aware that your life is short and passing. Therefore, yearn for eternity and keep preparing your hearts in prayer. I am with you and intercede before my Son for each of you, especially for those who have consecrated themselves to me and to my Son. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

It is funny but lately I have been so close to St. Francis. I have been reading, "The Little Flowers of St. Francis" and "Francis, A Saint's way". I have been praying for his intercession so that I can walk the way he did. He was so humble. Reading the little stories of his life reflect his humility thus closeness to God. I was thinking of the two people praying in the temple and the humble one was the pleasing one to God. If you haven't read the book, "The Little Flowers of St Francis", which was recommended by a Franciscan, I would definitely recommend it. It was written only 100 years after Francis' death. Of course, it was first written in Latin then Italian and today it is translated into our language.

In a canonical sense, you will find more information here:

Is that what it says? Well ok then.
I fear that what you say is "dangerous" from my view.
of course views vary.

Hi Bluecross,

'Consecrated life" I hope is different than "consecrating" our hearts to Our Lady and her son.

I don't think "chastity" is part of the sacrament of marriage. The wiki link mentions Chasity .

I also would like to know more about consecrating ourselves to the Queen of Peace and her son..

I believe chastity is defined differently for one's station in life. Probably oversimplifying tings a bit here, but for example marriage chastity would be complete faithfulness to one's spouse - that is my understanding. So the married should avoid lustful thoughts towards others outside of the marriage, wandering eyes etc. , and always remain pure in that way towards one's spouse only.

For the unmarried the primary meaning of course would be to avoid all carnal relations.

As for the Consecration, there is a relatively new book out there that provides 33 days of prep for consecrating oneself to Blessed Mary via prayers (see Fr. Gaitley's book too): http://33daystomorningglory.blogspot.co ... rayer.html

There is also these that I found:

http://www.mmp-usa.net/commit_laity.html

and the google search:

God bless you.

I would suggest anyone interested in consecration to Jesus through Mary to read St. Louis de Monfort's True Devotion to Mary.
Cathy Nolan writing on the message this month was wonderful{as usual}. I will leave a link at the bottom to De Monfort's writings, which also has his consecration.

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Thank you for having responded to my call." (October 25, 2014)

We are five days away from All Saints Day! This is the day we celebrate all our predecessors who have entered into eternity and are beholding the face of God! They are interceding for us and loving us from heaven, and we are longing to join them there. What a day of joy!

Our Lady's message is very meaningful in that regard. She calls us to not waste this time of grace but to seek the intercession of all the saints. I would like to propose that for the next 5 days we would focus on the saints together, using them as an example and encouragement on the way of conversion, and asking their intercession. In this way we will receive a deeper yearning for eternal life.

I prayed to St. Louis de Montfort for help in finding a structure for this time of prayer, and I opened to n.115 of True Devotion to Mary. It contains a list of interior practices to help us live our consecration to Mary. And I realized that these practices could help us to prepare for All Saints Day, because Mary is the most exalted of all saints and she can help us the most to convert and prepare for eternity. I further realized there are many saints who lived these practices and that they could be good examples for us of these interior practices. So I will try to move us through the list in the next 5 days!

St. Louis de Montfort wrote:

115. THERE are several interior practices of true devotion to the Blessed Virgin. Here are the principal of them stated compendiously.
§ 1. To honour her as the worthy Mother of God, with the worship of hyperdulia; that is to say, to esteem her and honour her above all the other Saints, as the masterpiece of grace, and the first after Jesus Christ, true God and true Man;
§ 2. To meditate her virtues, her privileges, and her actions;
§ 3. To contemplate her grandeurs;
§ 4. To make to her acts of love, of praise, of gratitude;
§ 5. To invoke her cordially;
§ 6. To offer ourselves to her, and unite ourselves with her;
§ 7. To do all our actions with the view of pleasing her;
§ 8. To begin, to continue, and to finish all our actions by her, in her, and with her, in order that we may do them by Jesus Christ, in Jesus Christ, with Jesus Christ, and for Jesus Christ our Last End. We will presently explain this last practice.

In § 1. St. Louis teaches us the right way to honor Our Lady. She is to be venerated (dulia) with a greater veneration (hyperdulia) than all the other saints because she is the Mother of God. But she is not to be adored (latria) which is reserved only for God. Here is a good definition of hyperdulia, (from Fr. John Hardon).

Hyperdulia
The special veneration due to the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is substantially less than the cultus latria (adoration), which is due to God alone. But it is higher than the cultus dulia (veneration), due to angels and other saints. As the Church understands the veneration of Mary, it is to be closely associated but subordinated to that of her Son. "The various forms of piety towards the Mother of God, which the Church has approved within the limits of sound and orthodox doctrine according to the dispositions and understanding of the faithful, ensure that while the mother is honored, the Son through whom all things have their being and in whom it has pleased the Father that all fullness should dwell, is rightly loved and glorified and His commandments are observed" (Second Vatican Council, Lumen Gentium, VII, 66). (Etym. Latin hyperdulia, virtue of deep submission.) All items in this dictionary are from Fr. John Hardon's Modern Catholic Dictionary, © Eternal Life. Used with permission. (found at http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05188b.htm )

How do we live out such honor for our Mother Mary? St Louis would say it is through total consecration to Mary. His True Devotion is a treatise on how to live our consecration to Mary in such a way that we honor her properly and live with her as our most trusted guide to Jesus.

I believe that Our Lady's presence in Medjugorje is the gift of the Father in these days so that we can live our consecration to her to its fullest. We honor Mary by giving ourselves to her completely, in trust and love, so that she can lead us to Jesus.

Let us pray:

St. Louis De Montfort's Prayer to Mary
Hail Mary, beloved Daughter of the Eternal Father! Hail Mary, admirable Mother of the Son! Hail Mary, faithful spouse of the Holy Ghost! Hail Mary, my dear Mother, my loving Mistress, my powerful sovereign! Hail my joy, my glory, my heart and my soul! Thou art all mine by mercy, and I am all thine by justice. But I am not yet sufficiently thine. I now give myself wholly to thee without keeping anything back for myself or others. If thou still seest in me anything which does not belong to thee, I beseech thee to take it and to make thyself the absolute Mistress of all that is mine. Destroy in me all that may be displeasing to God, root it up and bring it to nought; place and cultivate in me everything that is pleasing to thee.

May the light of thy faith dispel the darkness of my mind; may thy profound humility take the place of my pride; may thy sublime contemplation check the distractions of my wandering imagination; may thy continuous sight of God fill my memory with His presence; may the burning love of thy heart inflame the lukewarmness of mine; may thy virtues take the place of my sins; may thy merits be my only adornment in the sight of God and make up for all that is wanting in me. Finally, dearly beloved Mother, grant, if it be possible, that I may have no other spirit but thine to know Jesus and His divine will; that I may have no other soul but thine to praise and glorify the Lord; that I may have no other heart but thine to love God with a love as pure and ardent as thine I do not ask thee for visions, revelations, sensible devotion or spiritual pleasures. It is thy privilege to see God clearly; it is thy privilege to enjoy heavenly bliss; it is thy privilege to triumph gloriously in Heaven at the right hand of thy Son and to hold absolute sway over angels, men and demons; it is thy privilege to dispose of all the gifts of God, just as thou willest.

Such is, O heavenly Mary, the "best part," which the Lord has given thee and which shall never be taken away from thee-and this thought fills my heart with joy. As for my part here below, I wish for no other than that which was thine: to believe sincerely without spiritual pleasures; to suffer joyfully without human consolation; to die continually to myself without respite; and to work zealously and unselfishly for thee until death as the humblest of thy servants. The only grace I beg thee to obtain for me is that every day and every moment of my life I may say: Amen, so be it's all that thou didst do while on earth; Amen, so be it's all that thou art now doing in Heaven; Amen, so be it-to all that thou art doing in my soul, so that thou alone mayest fully glorify Jesus in me for time and eternity. Amen.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
Cathy Nolan

Our Lady dictated to the locutionist Jelena, the following 2 prayers of consecration

Prayer of Consecration to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
(Dictated by Our Lady to Jelena Vasilj, 11/28/1983)

O Jesus,
we know that you are gentle,
and that you have given your heart
for all of us.
It was crowned with thorns
and with our sins.
Oh, we know that nowadays you beg us
not to be lost.

O Jesus,
remember us when we sin.
Through your most holy heart
give us grace to love each other.
Let hatred disappear from the people.
Show your love.
We all love you,
and wish you to protect us
with your shepherd's heart
from every sin.

Come into every heart, O Jesus,
knock, knock on our hearts.
Be patient and untiring.
We are still closed because
we have not yet understood your will.
Knock perseveringly.

O good Jesus, Make us open
our hearts to you,
at least when we remember
your passion endured for us. Amen

Prayer of Consecration to
the Immaculate Heart of Mary

(Dedicated by our Lady to Jelena Vasilj, 11/28/1983)

O most pure heart of Mary,
full of goodness, show your love towards us.
Let the flame of your heart, O Mary,
descend on all people.
We love you immensely.
Impress on our hearts true love
so that we long for you.

O Mary, gentle and humble of heart,
remember us when we sin.
You know that all people sin.
grant, that through your most pure.
and motherly heart,
we may be healed from
every spiritual sickness.

Grant that we may always experience
the goodness of your motherly heart,
and that through the flame of your heart,
we may be converted. Amen

I LOVE this message from Our Lady, even though I know She is speaking to the whole world, I feel as if She is speaking to me & i'm sure everyone else feels the same. About a year ago I started saying this prayer each morning...its easy to remember for anyone wanting to consecrate themselves to Our Lady:

My Queen, my Mother I give myself entirely to you and to show my devotion to you I consecrate to you this day my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart, my whole being without reserve. Wherefore good Mother as I am Yours keep me, guard me as Your property & possession. Amen.

(an indulgence of 500 days) published in Pieta prayer booklet, Divine Mercy publications Ireland.)

Absolutely true Pavlovb ! BTW how's your dog :-)

The souls in Purgatory can't pray for themselves and so they are so grateful for our prayers. They will be eternally grateful to us. I have been regularly praying for them for years. If I feel God isn't listening, I say "If there are any souls in Heaven who I've retrieved from Purgatory, please help with ......" It is amazing how many times I get help
Cheers
Leo.

They can, however it doesn't come to their minds to pray. It is up to you to pray for them, so they can see what prayer is capable off. Once they find out what prayer can do for them, they start to pray for themselves. Therefore we must pray for the souls in purgatory to make them pray for themselves..
Just to give you an idea what would happen in MY heaven.

The same day I read this latest message from our Lady we were going though some old boxes and storage areas and I found an old video tape movie of Saint Joan of Arc. Wow! What an inspirational movie! I instantly thought of the message and now I feel called to ask for Saint Joan of Arc's intercession. What a brave young woman see was. This is definitely someone that I can look up to...

I always wonder if Joan of Arc would be a saint, if she had put on the clothes of a male priest celebrating masses, in stead of putting on the clothes of a male warrior and fight wars.
They would have burnt her on the stake for both infractions anyways once they would have found out her "deception".

Two female figures led me back to the Church and are at the heart of my conversion
1. The mother of Christ at Medjugorje and Our Lady of Guadalpe
2. Joan of Arc - If you drill down and truly wrap your arms around her story and understand Joan of Arc not as a myth but as an historical figure you will find yourself amazed.
A little know fact is Mark Twain got bitten by the Joan of Arc bug then stopped everything he was doing, moved to France and spent nearly ten years of his life researching the actual archives of the trial of Joan of Arc. He wrote a book about it. He called it his favorite book. He said:
"I like Joan of Arc best of all my books; and it is the best; I know it perfectly well. And besides, it furnished me seven times the pleasure afforded me by any of the others; twelve years of preparation, and two years of writing. The others needed no preparation and got none."
He also called her "easily, by far, the most extraordinary person the human race has ever produce"
“Taking into account, as I have suggested before, all the circumstances -- her origin, youth, sex, illiteracy, early environment, and the obstructing conditions under which she exploited her high gifts and made her conquests in the field and before the courts that tried her for her life, -- she is easily and by far the most extraordinary person the human race has ever produced".

Amen to that.
While I can hear the spiritual, Joan of Arc just said to me:

I wish people meditate on how to make an orphanage profitable.
Then if they conclude we are required, maybe they give us in want.

Just passed by Domremy la P., the birthplace of Joan of Arc, while I was in the neighborhood for my job. Domremy, a beautiful small hamlet on the river Meuse. There is a church with some relics, and there is a Museum with the original restored house where she was born. What stroke me most is that I found no reference to her sainthood, not in the church and not in the museum, not in the folders nor on any museum piece or statue. It was all about Joan of Arc. Not St. Joan of Arc. To me it seems the French all want Joan the heroine, but they want to ignore the title of saint. A weird kind of secularization. Maybe the title saint is creating a feeling of separation between the normal people and the person. Something the french want to avoid. I presume that Joan is an example, so simple, like everybody should be able to say: Wow this could be me. I walk away from the village I was born and become a hero just by pure willpower. Not so if she is a saint. Sainthood may alienate the person of Joan of Arc from the common people. St. Joan is not impressed, as she told me crying tears: We won, We won, We won.
Scholars can say: She didn't take Paris. But she did, indirectly and years later through the king that she had crowned. In Domremy is the cradle of France. If she had stayed there the world would be completely different.
And mom's will be moms, because her mother fought 26 years into her seventies to get the verdict reversed and against all odds, victorious mom. Joan was a daughter of her mother.,
