The Pope has spoken. I get what he is saying, but disagree. That is okay I hope.

Testing the Spirits.* (1John 4: 1-11 NAB)
1
Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2
This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God,
3
and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus* does not belong to God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that, as you heard, is to come, but in fact is already in the world.
4
You belong to God, children, and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
5
They belong to the world; accordingly, their teaching belongs to the world, and the world listens to them.
6
We belong to God, and anyone who knows God listens to us, while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.
God’s Love and Christian Life.
7
* Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God.
8
Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love.
9
In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him.
10
In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.
11
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another.
False Prophets.* (Matthew 7:15-20 NAB)When I study the above Scriptures, Medjugorje passes the test, especially now since we have over 30 years to go on
15
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves.k
16
l By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
17
Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.
18
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.
19
Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
20
So by their fruits you will know them.
Even the Pope with his doubts fully embraces the fruits of Medjugorje.Yes, there are some very special graces at Medjugorje.
But BC, wouldn't you agree that following the messages will lead us to Mary's Son?Are you saying that you don’t recognise the voice of the Good Shepherd but only the voice of his mother? The mother of Jesus said to the servants: “Do whatever he tells you.” In this scenario, we are invited to heed the words of Mary and act upon the words of Jesus.
And wouldn't you also agree that even if the apparitions were a fraud, the pilgrims, priests, and all the other faithful coming together in Medjugorje have made this a holy place of prayer in honor of Jesus?Better the heart be a holy place of prayer in honour of Jesus.
bluecross wrote:Are you saying that you don’t recognise the voice of the Good Shepherd but only the voice of his mother? You already answered my thoughts beautifully so I'll just requote your response:
The mother of Jesus said to the servants: “Do whatever he tells you.” In this scenario, we are invited to heed the words of Mary and act upon the words of Jesus.
bluecross wrote:Better the heart be a holy place of prayer in honour of Jesus.Another good response but I would include the Church, our prayer closet, Medjugorje, a mountain top, or any other place of prayer that aids us to honor Jesus in our hearts...
I hope all fruits are being analysed and will become available in an easily understood format as a result of this drawn out investigation. Not even God can do this. Simple reason. He forgets all the sins we have confessed.
bluecross wrote: Personally, I think Pope Francis is attempting to re-align our focus, less on Mary and her messages, more on Jesus and the Word.Re-align our focus?
Here comes Francis, the former Buenos Aires bar bouncerWhich message did that come from?
