God's Plan

Hi, I'm Rob I recently re-established my relationship with God after falling away from Him many times. My earliest memories involve God. I have been in and out of a relationship with Him my whole life, until 2 years ago, I have been with Him ever since.

On December 26th 2005 I was feeling regret that I had skipped Christmas Mass for the first time in my life. That night I pondered where my life was headed and never thought that I would fall this far from God. Among other things I also had been in the habit of searching the internet almost daily looking for the truth of what is wrong with the world and why things are the way they are. I prayed from the heart and asked God if the truth was even out there and if we could know the truth. I heard the Blessed Virgin Mary speak to me inside my head (I just knew it was her). She said: "The truth is with God."

For the months that followed Mary guided me on the path of holiness showing me many things and helped me "stay" on my walk with God. God reminded me of all the times, (is still reminding me) He spoke to me in my life, all the times I fell away and why. God showed me How He was working in my life and put many things together and showed me why they happened. God told me what was happening in the world and how I fit in His plan for salvation. He showed me why bad things happen, and how He turns them around and ultimately uses them for His glory. God has showed me in many ways why He created this world and why we are here. When I see people getting mad at God for bad things that happen, I think how absurd it is to think this way since God has shown me why they happen. I sometimes "wish" bad things would happen to me after seeing what glory it ends up giving God in heaven, but God has denied me this priveledge. It is a VERY GREAT HONOR to offer your sufferings up to the Lord. You can't do it in heaven so we might as well take advantage of this oppurtunity while we are here on Earth.

God has a great big plan for the world, a plan that will bring His chosen very close to Him as well as cause many conversions. Sometimes situations that bring us close aren't always pleasant ones. We all will be given great oppurtunities to share the faith, each and every one of us. God will equipt us with all we need to do our part in His plan. So long as we keep God first in our lives and put are trust in Him, we will stay under God's protection. Remember that no matter what happens, God is king and is above Satan regardless of how things appear to be.

Peace,

Your friend in Christ Rob

Thanks, Rob, that was helpful. I think we get scared about satan's influence and sometimes forget that God has already conquered evil.

Rob, welcome to the forum.

Your story is most interesting and I find most intriguing. I use that word in the good sense in that it arouses my curiosity in what you have been shown.
God has showed me in many ways why He created this world and why we are here. Can you share a little bit on what you've been shown in this and why you would consider it a privilege? I ask this because some very holy persons had come to the same conclusion and I'd like to hear more on this insight.

saying that - I really don't think anyone should be asking for bad things to happen to them. Life has enough in store in that line for all of us.

First off, I am not that Holy, but the spirit living inside me is. Look at what Jesus did for us because He loved us so much. If we loved as much as He did would we not do the same for Him as well as eachother? As our Love for God grows we desire to do more for Him and even willing to suffer as a sacrifice to God, a way of showing Him how much we Love Him and desire the salvation of souls. Fasting is one example of this and some people even offer more than this up to God. The closer we get to God the more we become like Him and the more willing we become to suffer for the sake of others, who need people to pray and offer sufferings up to God for them, since they are not doing so themselves.

Demotriton, I know Hopper already asked for more info and you shared a little about suffering, but could you possibly elaborate more on other things you shared as well. For example God's big plan. I know everything is part of God's plan, but the resolution of all the evil in the world, will that happen soon? Can you share at all what your role will be in God's plan.

If you don't feel comfortable sharing any of this, I understand. It is just that I'm rather hopeful that the world will not continue the way it is for too long.

A beautiful story you shared

thank you Rod for sharing because I sometimes feel the same I want to be near to the Lord inspite of my struggles, like this passage the Lord said to you.it caught to my attention." It is a VERY GREAT HONOR to offer your sufferings up to the Lord. You can't do it in heaven so we might as well take advantage of this oppurtunity while we are here on Earth." God bless you always.
