Update on a Challenging Pregnancy...Good News!!!

Postby missy » Thu May 28, 2009 2:11 pm

Hello:

I went to the doctor yesterday and here is the update. My placenta tore at 10 weeks gestation and worsened to about a 4 inch tear at 14 weeks. No one really knows why this happens sometimes, but it does to about 3-5% of all pregnancies. Bedrest and antilabor medications, most of all God answering many kind prayers, has shrunk my tear to a little less than half that size now at 33 weeks. My baby only stood about a 19% chance of survival back then, now far better at 96%.

She is healthy and strong. I still need to take it easy. The other problems they were concerned about "disappeared". I have to watch my diet with gestational diabetes, but even that is stable.

They think that I can deliver normally too. They will induce labor at 38-39 weeks if I haven't delevered by then, Murphy's Law, so that I don't give birth on the highway (my 5th child and fast labors).

I want to THANK ALL OF YOU!!!! THANK YOU for all your prayers!!!! Please keep them up still too if you don't mind until she is safely delivered. We've asked the catholic navy chaplain to baptize her at the hospital a day or two after she is born. We've much to be grateful for. God has truly kept a steadying Hand in our lives and especially around her!!!

Please keep up your prayers for my sister who is undergoing radiation for breast cancer and for my father's heart condition!!!! It has been a rough 1/2 year, but it could have been far worse, as Fr. Groeschel would say. Thank you again and I'll let you know when I have her....funny...now I'm getting rather ancy to have her and not be pregnant!!! I guess this is normal!!!!

I'll will continue to monitor and pray for all of your requests even though I may not personally reply online. I promise to pray for you all!!! God Bless and Thank You!!!! :D :D
God Bless!!!!

Missy this is just incredibly wonderful news!!! 96%!!!!! Wow!

Keeping you and your family in my prayers and looking forward to hearing all about her after she's born - it will be nice to have a name for her other than "Missy's baby" as we know her here. :D
God bless you!

Hi Missy,

I will have to drive down 695 and come and visit when our sweet Elizabeth makes her self known to the world :D :D . I'm sure all her brothers and sisters can't waite for her arrival.

Come to think of it, all of us are in a hurry to see this sweet angel of a baby :) :)

I'm so happy all the medical issues are ok.
Please take care Missy and get a lot of rest. I'm praying for you all the time.

God Bless,
Cathy B

Hail Mary..
