The Sunday night vigil was indeed wonderful. I have never been to the Cathedral in Birmingham before, and it is a very large city [approx 5.3 million] - in the dark, and without a Sat Nav, I 'feel' that St. Therese guided me straight there; even through the back streets to the clerics' car park, where the security guys on the gate waved me straight in [on telling them I was in the Carmel 3rd Order]!
Although the interior was crowed, I got a seat at the front! All the officials were so polite and helpful. There was a spiritual aura that seemed to dictate there be no crabbiness or dissent of any sort in the congregation.
The only hiccup of the night was when the high tech computer assisted presentation failed. At that moment I was reading St.Therese's account of complexity 'doing her poor little head in', that she preferred 'the simple way' - , and I also felt that she was in effect 'saying', "guys, away with all the technical gizmos, keep things simple as well as to the point".
Peace and Love.
"Jesus, help me to simplify my life by learning what you want me to be - and becoming that person."
"For me to love you, Jesus, as you love me, I would have to borrow your own love and then only would I be at rest."
